Synopsis:
Everyone who likes music know that the concept of key is important – but does a technical knowledge of tonality help us understand music better? What aspects of tonality will it help us as listeners to understand? What can we safely leave to the experts while we get on and listed? Drawing on the music and words of authorities as varied as Julie Andrews and Arnold Schoenberg, we will examine the key concepts of key and in the process hope to understand a little more about some of our best-loved music.
